Although my pace does not allow me to follow my teammates in the field to fight the enemies, I am still here to make the job easier for them.

Slobot is the one of the main protagonists of Power Players. He's a small toy robot who, despite his deliberate slow speed because of his missing parts, serves as the technician and handyman of the Power Players team.

Appearance[]

Slobot is a small red, yellow, and gray robot toy with an antenna on both sides of his head. His face is a gray holographic projection screen that has blue lights which usually depict his eyes and mouth, but it can change into other visual images on the screen. His head is able to turn completely around to see something behind him. He has the Power Players team insignia on his chest, and he can move by using his gray continuous track wheels.

Personality[]

True to his name, Slobot is functioned as a toy robot who moves and speaks in a very slow manner. The reason behind it is because when he was put together on the fly from a build-your-own-bot kit, he's missing a few parts from the kit which results on his deliberate slow speed and movement.[3] And because he is unable to move fast due to his missing parts, he never participates in any battles against Madcap's army and he would often have to stay in Axel's room to protect himself. But whenever Slobot is asked to help his teammates outside of Axel's house, he would become excited to join them because of how lonely he is whenever he has to stay the room to watch over their home base, like in "On Your Toes" when Sarge Charge suggests Masko should bring Slobot with him when Action Axel reported to the team that Porcupunk is hiding somewhere in the yard.

But while Slobot is well known for his slowness which often leads to his teammates having to literally carry him around, he makes it up by being the greatest inventor of the Power Players team. He's very intelligent, friendly, helpful, and empathetic, who could create many inventions for his friends as well as fixing them when his toy companion got broken. He is also very brave and often willing to stand up for himself from mockery, like when he came to challenge Ice Crusher to a game of curling to rescue his friends by persuading to him that if he's afraid that he'll beat him in the game. Slobot has a strong respect for robots who're as friendly as him, because when Mech Bear arrives at Axel's house out of the blue in "The Trojan Bear", he greets him and calls him his "robot brother".

At times, Slobot can be insecure about himself and he wants to get his friends' approval because of his lack of speed. After he failed the strength, stamina, and speed tests that the Power Players set up in "That Slobot is No Bot of Mine" and he felt belittled when he thought his friends are all laughing at him about it, he became desperate to prove to them he's capable of doing those three skills even if it means he has to change himself for the better. He built Skillbot, Strongbot, and Staminabot and he took out his frustration on his teammates because of his jealousy, which he unintentionally put them in danger in the process. And during his rampage, his jealousy has also caused his personality system to mess up that he believed that he doesn't need friends when he could be a champion and be a winner after his change. It wasn't until Action Axel manages to tell Slobot that he's actually proud of him for his true self that Slobot realizes the error of his ways and starts accepting himself as part of the team. Slobot also expresses jealousy when he built duplicates of Troypads for his friends in "Just Like Robots" and they all take a liking to its artificial intelligence and its speed compared to him, telling them that they didn't need to rub it into him.

Slobot is very playful and likes to play games, such as when he decides to play tag with his teammates in "Joyride" and makes Axel "it" without the need of touching him. He also has a sense of humor because when Axel jokingly asks Slobot if he for sure had put Bobbie's and Sarge's heads back in the correct body after the two annoyed Axel with their nagging near the end of "Out Of My Head", Slobot laughs along with him and finds it funny.

Abilities[]

Slobot is very intelligent, being excellent at knowing facts, statistics, and calculations. He also has exceptional talent in inventing as he is able to create numerous weapons for the Power Players team because of his tech DNA. He also can fix his toy companions whenever they got broken, such as their heads being swapped or their parts falling off. As revealed in "Bobbie Not Blobby", Slobot is also able to pilot his ship that serves as a transportation for the Power Players. His projection screen is able to scan and analyze his surroundings, including a photo from a cellphone.

However, because he's currently missing a few parts from the build-your-own-bot kit, his biggest weakness is his deliberate slow speed and movements, and he's unable to move and talk fast.[3] And aside from his lack of agility, the episode "That Slobot is No Bot of Mine" shows that his lack of pace also caused him to unable to lift up something heavier than him and throwing any objects farther away from him.

Relationships[]

Axel Mulligan/Action Axel[]

Slobot met Axel near the end of "Unboxing Part 2", after Madcap, Porcupunk, and Orangutank all escaped from the Toy Store, and Slobot is unable to catch up with his teammates because he's trapped inside the Toy Box the entire time. Since then, Slobot comes to respect Axel as the new leader of the Power Players after they become friends. Whenever there's something wrong with Action Axel's Power Drone and/or his armor, such as when Action Axel's Power Bandz got overheated in "Countdown" after he got slammed into the wall which makes him unable to get out of toy mode, Slobot is always there to help fix it for him. Though, at times, Slobot tends to get ignored by Axel whenever he trying to tell him something important because of Axel's lack of patience, especially when the Power Players have to fight against a villain inside the house.

When Slobot felt belittled about himself after mistakenly thought his teammates are laughing at him for his lack of skill, strength, and stamina, that he build three giant robots and took out his anger on his teammates in "That Slobot is No Bot of Mine", he felt happy when Action Axel tells him that his teammates are all actually proud of him for who he really is as a kind-hearted robot and they're all his friends regardless of his flaws. Slobot also became guilty when he built Skillbot, Strongbot, and Staminabot for the purpose of attacking his teammates because of his jealousy that he asks Action Axel for help to put the three giant robots back together.

Bearbarian[]

Slobot isn't close with Bearbarian, but he seems to at least get along with him despite the latter's toughness. In "Gathering Dark", Slobot upgraded Bearbarian's Monster Jeep for him by installing a defense system so it can defend itself from possible threats. However, following the incident when Dynamo caused a power outage which leads to the Monster Jeep's defense protocol mode being switched to merciless predator mode and starts chasing after everyone in the room with Bearbarian never requested Slobot to make a remote to shut it down, Slobot must have removed the defense system from the Monster Jeep since it's never seen again in other episodes.

Bobbie Blobby[]

Slobot isn't close to Bobbie, but they both see each other as friends despite he is called by Bobbie "the other member of the team" when she introduces him to Action Axel in "Unboxing Part 2". When Bobbie and Galileo have an argument over the room temperature being either too hot or too cold in "Attack of Thermometron 9000", Slobot is willing to invent Thermometron 9000 to help localize the temperature in the hope to end their argument.

Galileo[]

Slobot isn't close to Galileo, but they both see each other as friends. When Galileo and Bobbie have an argument over the room temperature being either too hot or too cold in "Attack of Thermometron 9000", Slobot is willing to invent Thermometron 9000 to help localize the temperature in the hope to end their argument.

After Slobot is interviewed by both Galileo and Action Axel in "Slobot", he is proud of how it was turn out and likes Galileo’s tactic of making it seems like he talks at a normal pace throughout the interview by speeding up the video without boring his teammates when they're all watching it together.

It's unknown if Slobot is annoyed by Galileo's love for pranks like the rest of the Power Players since he doesn't appear in both "Boo!" and "Joke's On You, Bro!" when Galileo pranks his teammates. However, he didn't take lightly when Galileo jokingly makes fun of his screws being missing in "The Thing in the Wall" and being called a "screws loose" by him.

Masko[]

Slobot isn't close to Masko, but they both get along well as friends with Masko often help carry Slobot around. At times, Slobot would participate in Masko's wrestling matches despite he would always lose because he was unable to move fast enough to wrestle him. In "Winner Takes All", Slobot is the only member of the Power Players who don't participate in Luchador Day because of it.

Sarge Charge[]

Slobot isn't close to Sarge, but they are friends despite Sarge's tendency to lack any patience, such as in "Emergency" when Slobot tries to tell Sarge that Axel is running out of toothpaste to brush his teeth, but Sarge didn't let him finish talking and jumps into conclusion that Axel is held prisoner by Madcap instead. But other than that, in "The Dynamo Dynamic", Slobot invented Sarge a new blaster for him so he could have another weapon to use during his fight against Madcap's army.

Zoe[]

While Slobot doesn't interact with Zoe a lot, he sees her as a friend and supports her as the team's ally, as seen in "Side Kicked".

Luka[]

Like the rest of the Power Players, Slobot is afraid of Luka because of how roughly he likes to play with them and he would usually try to hide from him whenever Luka visits Axel's house.

Madcap[]

Slobot is aware that Madcap and his associates have escaped from Toy Store before he can get out of the Toy Box to fight him in "Unboxing Part 2".

Madcap's army[]

Madcap would often send his henchmen to invade the Toy Store to try to take down the Power Players and steal Axel's Power Bandz. But due to Slobot's slow speed, he's never seen battling with any of them and he'll often have to stay and hide from their view to prevent himself from being captured. In "The Dynamo Dynamic", Dynamo break into the Toy Store to kidnap Slobot so that Madcap could use him to work on his inventions, but Action Axel, Sarge Charge, and Masko all managed to save him. When Ice Crusher froze the second floor of the Toy Store and traps the Power Players in "Freeze!", Slobot arrives to challenge Ice Crusher to a curling match to beat him at his own game and rescue his friends so that they can get Ice Crusher out of the house.

Trivia[]

  • In the French version, his name is pronounced with the "T" being silent (/sləʊboʊ/). Action Axel calling Slobot "Slo-Bo" in "Countdown" might be a reference to his name being pronounced in the French dub.
  • Slobot's name has been changed in several international dubs:
    • In the Czech version, his name is changed to "Loudobot".
    • In the Hungarian version, his name is changed to "Labot". His Hungarian name is a portmanteau of the English word "bot" and the Hungarian word for "slow" which is either "lassít" (verb), "lassú" (adverb), or "lassan" (adjective).
  • Slobot's name is a portmanteau of the words "slow" and "robot".
  • Due to he didn't manage to get out of the Toy Box until the end of "Unboxing Part 2", Slobot must be the sixth and last Power Players member to be reawoken by Axel.
  • Slobot is currently the only member of the Power Players who don't have an official character bio on the official Power Players website.[4]
  • According to Slobot in "Gathering Dark", he is afraid of lasers. But despite his fear, he installed a laser feature to Skillbot's eyes to attack Action Axel in "That Slobot is No Bot of Mine", though he might have added the laser feature because of his jealousy to his friends when he felt he was belittled by them and he wants to prove that he can be fast while piloting Skillbot.

Slobot's antennas drooping down.

  • Slobot's antennas are sometimes seen going down when he feels annoyed or stress.
  • It's unlikely Slobot is able to eat foods since his face is a screen and he doesn't have a mouth to consume.
  • In "Freeze!", it's revealed that Slobot knows how to play curling because he finds that the game is not about speed or improvising, but rather to think it through while playing it.
  • Because Slobot has wheels instead of feet, it's unknown how he is able to get up and down the stairs without falling since he often gets up or down all by himself without any of his friends help carrying him.
  • Sometimes Slobot's pace is inconsistent. For example, in "Return of Thermometron 9000", he moves a lot faster than his normal slow pace when he is retrieving Thermometron 9000.
