—Princess SugarSalt, "Swing Set Jet Set" |
Princess SugarSalt is a recurring antagonist of Power Players. She's a self-proclaimed "princess" fairy doll who's a part of Madcap's army.
Appearance[]
Princess SugarSalt is a fairy doll whose hair is styled up into a single point, a gold tiara with a heart in the center, a short heart-shaped strapless dress with gold trim, and yellow ballet shoes. She also has a pair of wings on her skirt, one magenta eye, one green eye, a pair of fangs on her teeth, and is fully articulated. Sometimes Princess SugarSalt's hair, dress, and wings color would be either green or pink which can be switched depending on what mood she is in. If she's in a "sugary" mood, she would have pink hair, a green dress, and pink wings. Whereas if she's in a "salty" mood, she would have green hair, a pink dress, and green wings.
Personality[]
Princess SugarSalt is from an unnamed toyline that's associate with fairy-tales, hence her title. When she was forced to join Madcap's army, she becomes very delusional about her self-proclaimed "princess" title, which leads to her tyrannical behavior. Princess SugarSalt is very bossy, arrogant, ruthless, short-tempered, and possessive about her "status" that she expects people to treat her like royalty and she is particularly enraged by people who won't follow her order, usually throwing tantrums whenever she doesn't get what she wanted. She thinks highly of herself and lowly of others as she believes that she deserves everything and takes pride in her "princess" lifestyle. And true to her name, SugarSalt has a very frequent, fairly sudden, and violent mood swings where she alternates between being obnoxiously sweet (sugar) to being rude (salt) whenever she speaks.
If there is something that she wants, like attention, Princess SugarSalt will do anything, including underhanded actions, to succeed. She manipulates the Power Players into thinking Axel has abandoned them to hang out with Cleo and she had attempt to steal Axel's dental crown after she mistakenly thought it was a crown headpiece. She rarely treats any of her peers respectfully, being acting bossy and overbearing to everyone around her, especially to her own leader Madcap whom she expects him to treat her like royalty despite he's her superior.
Because of her self-absorbed personality, Princess SugarSalt lacks any empathy for anyone else besides herself and she can easily get jealous if someone doesn't pay attention to her. When she gets her hands on Bearbarian's World Breaker in "Swing Set Jet Set", she is shown to enjoy causing mayhem and destruction with the hammer, not caring if she can cause people to get harm in the process. She also thinks little of friendship, believing she can easily get anyone to follow her demands and treats her like a ruler if she acts nice to them, and cares for no one but herself, seeing friendship solely as a means to use others to be her "underlings".
Abilities[]
Princess SugarSalt wields a plastic wand that she could use to create light-green tractor beams to levitate or move objects, or firing out heart-shaped arrows to attack enemies. She can also use her wand to put someone under her spell, but she must perform a chant before she could cast it onto someone else. So far, the only noticeable spell performed by SugarSalt is forcing Axel and Cleo into hanging out with each other in "Friend Wars".
Interestingly, she can change the color of her hair, dress, wings, and the star on her wand into either green or pink without the use of her wand, which changes depending on her mood swings.
Relationships[]
Madcap[]
At some point before "Swing Set Jet Set", Madcap found Princess SugarSalt and forces her into his army. He later found a toy jetpack in his lair and asks her to trade the jetpack to Galileo for Bearbarian's World Breaker hammer. But even though they both share a tyrannical personality and a love for destruction, the two toys didn't actually get along because of their differences and SugarSalt's behavior to him. Despite Madcap is her superior and leader, Princess SugarSalt views him as a "commoner" and usually demands him to give her everything she wants while expecting him to treat her like royalty because of her self-proclaimed "princess" title. Princess SugarSalt is also jealous of Madcap being the leader of his toys and had angrily questioned him why he never let her rule their "underlings" in "Friend Wars". But despite her jealousy, Princess SugarSalt can at times obey Madcap and she even bows to him when he's on his way to his throne in "Joke's On You, Bro!".
Orangutank[]
Princess SugarSalt and Orangutank have a somewhat neutral relationship. At the beginning of "Friends War", Princess SugarSalt demands Orangutank to make more tributes for her because of her narcissism, but it makes Orangutank become "bored" and leaves her alone to avoid her outbursts. Later in the episode when Orangutank is destroying street lamps at the park, Princess SugarSalt, who was pretending to be a member of the Power Players in the hope to make them her "underlings", pretends to "fight" Orangutank while trying to "lead" the Power Players.
Porcupunk[]
Princess SugarSalt and Porcupunk have a neutral relationship, meaning they both hate each other but can act as teammates and at times friends. In "Grin and Bear It", upon hearing the news from Porcupunk that he overheard Zoe and Axel talking about a crown, which he mistakenly thought the crown is a headpiece instead of a dental cap for Axel's tooth, Princess SugarSalt told Porcupunk that he was her favorite before she leaves to steal the crown. At times, Princess SugarSalt and Porcupunk both tend to mock and insult each other, such as Princess SugarSalt calling Porcupunk a "klutz" when he trips during Ice Crusher's hockey match in "Return of Thermometron 9000" and she took offended when Porcupunk insults her wand and calls it "plastic" in "Madtrap".
Ice Crusher[]
Princess SugarSalt and Ice Crusher have a somewhat neutral relationship. When Ice Crusher made a crown for her in "Grin and Bear It", Princess SugarSalt was initially excited for wearing it on her head since it's a "perfect fit for a princess". But the moment the ice crown starts dripping water on her, she immediately throws a tantrum and destroys it out of anger, declaring she doesn't like the crown anymore since it's made out of ice which can melt.
But despite their rocky interactions, Princess SugarSalt is willing to help Ice Crusher try to stop Porcupunk when his upgraded powers have gone out of control in "Porcupunk Rock" and she participates in Ice Crusher's hockey match during a heatwave in "Return of Thermometron 9000".
Power Players[]
Overall, Princess SugarSalt is a sworn enemy to the Power Players. In "Swing Set Jet Set", Madcap found a toy jetpack in his lair and asks Princess SugarSalt to trade the jetpack to Galileo for Bearbarian's World Breaker hammer which she manages to successfully did and she uses World Breaker to causes various damages at the park with it. Though, Galileo and Princess SugarSalt later trade back their items and Galileo defeats her by tricking her into pushing a red button on the jetpack to send her flying away from the park. When Princess SugarSalt wants to have her own underlings so they could do her biddings in "Friends War", she chose the Power Players as her ideal servants. By casting a spell on Axel and Cleo to make the kids spent time together, she manipulated the toys into thinking Axel has abandoned them and she has also lied to them that she had "turned over a new leaf" which convinces them into believing her and let her become part of the team, unaware that was part of her plan to make the toys her followers. Later, after Zoe breaks Princess SugarSalt's spell by challenging Cleo to a soccer match so Cleo could leave Axel alone, Axel transforms into Action Axel and rescues his teammates after they unintentionally made Princess SugarSalt declaring herself the "new leader" of the team, which she openly admits to him and his teammates that the toys are nothing but her "servants".
Zoe[]
Princess SugarSalt is well aware that Zoe is an ally to the Power Players and she sees her as her enemy.
