Power Players (TV series) is a CGI animated French series. It is a co-production by ZAG Animation, Method Animation, and Man of Action.[2] It premiered around the world starting in summer of 2019. The show is currently licensed by and premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States, with Netflix currently holding the series and online streaming rights.[3]
The first season has 78 episodes and a nineteen episode web series. It was announced that a second season is being worked on.[4] A live-action film is announced to be in production.[5]

International releases[]
Power Players was first released in the United States on August 30, 2019, on the Cartoon Network website before it made its official television premiere on September 21, 2019. The series currently streams on Netflix starting on March 5, 2020.

Trivia[]
- According to a Facebook post by Increditainment, Playmate Toys will develop a "multi-segment toy line" that will "capture the action and adventure of the series". The first wave of toys was released in January 2020.[1]
- The production for the series was greenlighted back on June 17, 2016.[7]
- During production, the series went through many different titles including: Power Toys[7] Super Toys[8], and TForce 7[9].
- Originally, the series is going to have the characters be animated in CGI via motion capture in a live-action background. And in terms of visuals, it was going to be "Alvin and The Chipmunks meets The Smurfs meets Ant Man". The Power Players trailer is the only footage to feature a CGI-animated character in a live-action background.[7]
- According to Jeremy Zag when the series was greenlighted into production, [Power Players] will be a "dynamic action show with great comedy" and he describes it as "aspirational and heroic".[7]
- In the French release for Canada, the series is called Axel et les Power Players.[10]
- The series was originally going to premiere in 2017 and later 2018.[11][12]
- Unlikely other ZAG Heroez shows such as Miraculous Ladybug and Zak Storm, Power Players runs on 11 minutes instead of 22 minutes.
- The series was planned to debut on Teletoon in Canada for English viewers on August 31, 2019. However, it premiered a day early on the official Cartoon Network website in the US with the release of the first seven episodes.
