“ | No one orders Orangutank to do or not to do! | ” |
—Orangutank, "Knockout" |
Orangutank is a recurring antagonist of Power Players. He is a toy cyborg gorilla who's one of Madcap's army.
Appearance[]
Orangutank is a gorilla cyborg with red irises, black pupils, and four gray fingers and four gray toes. He is all blue, but he has some gray joints, and he has various red energy disks on his back and arms.
Personality[]
Designed to be a cross between King Louie and the Terminator, Orangutank behaves like an actual feral animal. He is very loud, wild, and uncivilized, often making noises instead of talking. However, when Orangutank does talk, his speech comes out as garbling and it's often hard for others to understand him. He is also very stubborn and dislikes whenever someone besides Madcap tells him what to do or not to do, declaring himself a "master of [his] own actions" and he usually comes up with his own plans.
Because of his animal-like behavior, Orangutank's desire is to turn the city into a jungle by destroying every man-made structure in his path so he could rule it as a king, seeing things like street lamps as "fake trees" and he wants to bring the plants that are being put in pots "freedom" by shattering the planters. But like the rest of the members of Madcap's army, Orangutank's goal to rule the city comes off as very delusional and he often didn't think about his plan fully through. For instance, in "Savage Axel", Orangutank assumes that the seed he planted would immediately grow into a giant tree which could overrun his enemies' territory, unaware that a tree takes many years to grow until Porcupunk tells him, but he decides to protect the seed anyway from the Power Players to let it grow over time and sees it as his "awesome master plan".
In "Countdown", Orangutank wants to stay at the Toy Store living room and he's willing to turn it into a "jungle" by creating a giant fort to declare it as his territory, which indicates that while his goal is to get nature take over the city from the outside, he wants to turn wherever he declares as his new home into a jungle to make it into his own habitat.
Abilities[]
Orangutank has enhanced senses and physical abilities which allows him to be powerful enough to attack and restraint others. But aside from his extraordinary strength, Orangutank can use his red energy disks that are on his back like a buzzsaw to sharply cut any materials or attack his enemies during a fight. He can also shoot his buzzsaws into the air and makes them leave his back if necessary. Orangutank is also able to create a forcefield around him by using his energy disks that can be impenetrable to break.
In "Knockout", he is shown to able to produce loud soundwaves by pounding on his chest.
Relationships[]
Madcap[]
Orangutank does his best to follow Madcap's many orders to take down the Power Players, though in situations when Madcap gets angry at him for whatever reason, he can get nervous or frustrated.
Porcupunk[]
Porcupunk and Orangutank seem to be very close since they're the first toys Madcap made them come to life by the Minergy battery after "Unboxing Part 2". Whenever Madcap leaves his lair to fight with the Power Players, Porcupunk and Orangutank are usually seen with him as his henchmen. Porcupunk is shown to at least understand Orangutank whenever he talks and often tries to translate his garbling whenever someone else doesn't understand him. But even though Porcupunk is viewed somewhat as his friend, Orangutank wants to have him as his "manservant" once he successfully rules the city as a jungle, as revealed in "Savage Axel".
Princess SugarSalt[]
Despite being on the villain side, Orangutank didn't get along with Princess SugarSalt and he can get annoyed by her uncontrollable mood-swings. When Princess SugarSalt demands him to make more tributes for her at the beginning of "Friends War", Orangutank tells her that he's "bored" and leaves her alone so he could avoid another one of her outbursts. Later when Orangutank attacks the park, he is surprised when he sees what he assumes Princess SugarSalt on the Power Players' side, unaware that Princess SugarSalt is actually pretending to be good so she could make the team her underlings, and he gets upset when she helps them "fight" him, asking her which side she's really on.
Ice Crusher[]
Although the relationship between Orangutank and Ice Crusher is unknown, Orangutank participates in Ice Crusher's hockey match during a heatwave in "Return of Thermometron 9000".
Power Players[]
Overall, Orangutank is the sworn enemy to the entire Power Players team since he's on Madcap's side. He is often annoyed whenever the Power Players didn't understand him while he's telling them his schemes, so he is very impressed when Bobbie Blobby reveals to him and her teammates in "Sarge in Charge" that she is able to understand Orangutank's garbling and he compliments that she's "right on the nose".
But despite Orangutank being an enemy to the Power Players, in "All Trick No Treat", he's willing to put aside their differences so they could temporarily work together to rescue their respective leaders when both Madcap and Action Axel are mistakenly got taken away by a trick-or-treater on Halloween and after they succeed, he becomes their enemy again.

Trivia[]
- According to Andrew in "Unboxing Part 1", Orangutank is a rare collector's item.
- Before Orangutank was brought to life, he is referred with "it/its" pronouns by Andrew when Andrew shows him to Axel.[5]
- Before the series premiere, Orangutank was first revealed on Tarik Hamdine's Instagram on June 15, 2018, where he was featured in a storyboard image of "Sarge in Charge" Handine uploaded. Although, he wasn't identified by his name yet.[6]
- His name was first revealed on a model sheet on Samuel Baltus's ArtStation.[7]
- Just like with Porcupunk, Orangutank, in a way, has indirectly caused Axel to find the Power Bandz and released Madcap and the Power Players from the Toy Box. In "Unboxing Part 1", Axel was playing with him and Porcupunk when they're both in a dormant state and Axel causes one of Orangutank's legs to fall off. When Axel is trying to fix Orangutank's leg, he accidentally tosses a screwdriver away and it rolls to Andrew's lab, causing the entire series conflict to happen.
- Also, the reason Orangutank became Madcap's henchman was that Axel left him and Porcupunk at the workshop when he tried to retrieve the screwdriver he accidentally dropped, which indirectly caused Madcap to later find them and made them come to life after applying Minergy to them from the Minergy battery.
- Orangutank more then a lot resembles Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals from Transformers Beast Wars, in color and form.
