“ | Acting! Award-worthy, I might add. I'd rather be the only Galileo around. Makes me feel... unique | ” |
—Galileo, "Sand Trap" |
Galileo is the one of the main protagonists of Power Players. He is a prototype toy mutant lizard creature from a popular in-universe toyline called Junior Genetic Spy Lizards and he serves as an actual spy of the Power Players team.
Appearance[]
Galileo is a blue muscular toy lizard with a light-green secondary color, yellow-green sclerae and red eyes, and light-purple spines. He wears a black shirt, a gray belt with the Power Players team insignia, and yellow pants. Galileo has muscular calves, three toes and four fingers, and a camera attached on his tail whenever he would take a selfie.
Personality[]
Galileo is flamboyant, dramatic, and at times arrogant. Having been originated from the Junior Genetic Spy Lizards toyline, he has a big ego who likes to brag about himself being from a popular toyline and he sees himself as a famous actor who tends to be dramatic over little things to show off his acting skills. Galileo is very outspoken who isn't afraid to speak about his opinions and he would often play a role as an announcer during a competition held by his teammates. He is also a great negotiator who is able to convince Princess SugarSalt to trade back World Breaker for the jet pack she found for him.
Galileo may come off as egotistical and brash, but he is very friendly, nice, and helpful. He displays confidence in himself and is very brave which helps him be a part of the Power Players team. He is also very fun-loving and can be mischievous. When Masko starts singing a song to encourage Axel to participate on Luchador's Day in "Winner Takes All", Galileo pulls out his maracas and sings back-up for him. He even enjoys playing pranks on his friends and tries to be funny despite none of them find his jokes amusing.
However, underneath Galileo's outgoing personality, he is deeply insecure about himself since he was produced as a prototype of an upgraded figure in the toyline but he was never officially made out of the production line. According to Action Axel in his titular webisode, he is the only "specimen" of the toyline and thus, he is the only known Galileo in existence. As a result, Galileo is haunted by his never-was star status[3] and he would easily get his feelings hurt whenever someone mentioned about it to him as not a "real" toy. He is very self-conscious about his insecurities that he even don't want to hear anyone bringing up the topic about himself not being an official character in the toyline, like when he almost wanted to end his phone call with Axel in "Spies Like Us" because Axel mentioned that Galileo's character isn't on the Junior Genetic Spy Lizards TV show despite Galileo likes watching the show.
Galileo's insecurity leads him to often think that he is unloved and he wants to feel like he belongs to the team, like at the beginning of "Sand Trap" when he's suddenly get filled with relief upon hearing that his teammates have been searching for him in the sandbox all morning and he is happy to know that they "really like" and care for him. He pretends to be a "celebrity" and posts his selfie photos on social media as a way to be the center of attention and cover up his flaw as a prototype so he could make himself feel special as a rare toy. He is very desperate for attention and becoming popular that he is even willing to let himself be seen as a living toy in front of the camera, such as in "Green with Envy" when he wanted to crash Andrew's interview since he knows that anyone who's watching him talking in a video would think it's a camera trick and that it is someone else who does his talking. Because Galileo sees himself as a nobody within the toyline, he'll become thrilled whenever someone who is not a toy notices his existence and takes a liking to him. This is seen in "Beware of the Luka" when Galileo was initially afraid of Luka and wants to avoid being left alone with him, but after overhearing Luka saying that he sees him as his favorite out of Axel's toys and he's being called "mega awesome" by him, Galileo comes out of hiding to let Luka play with him since he sees that Luka has a great taste on him.
Abilities[]
Galileo has martial art skills, can walk on walls, and has the ability to glide in the air. But because Galileo is designed as a lizard, he can't stand being in cold temperature, which he mentioned that he's "cold-blooded", and he can't swim very well. His weapon of choice is his energy discs which he could fire out to his enemies. His accessories include a stealth mode that could give him the ability to camouflage which makes him invisible in a person's eyes and thermal specs so he can easily look around at his surroundings.
Since Galileo is made as a spy lizard from his toyline, he serves as an actual spy within the Power Players. He can even hack into security cameras from buildings so he could spy on people, especially the toys from Madcap's army.
In "Winner Takes All", he also knows how to play the maracas.
Relationships[]
Axel Mulligan/Action Axel[]
Galileo first met Axel after he was accidentally brought back to life by him during his fifth day at the Toy Store. However, like the rest of the Power Players, he mistakes Axel as a "big bad" because of a misunderstanding by Sarge Charge when he thought Axel has deliberately let Madcap free from the Toy Box and "stole" the Power Bandz. After Axel transforms into a living action figure for the second time while in his room where the Power Players confront him, he reveals to them that he's the nephew of Andrew and what he did was completely an accident, which clears up the misunderstanding between them and it's allowed Galileo to start trusting him. During the fight between the Power Players and the villain at the secret lab, Galileo reveals to Action Axel that he has a sword in his suit by pressing a button on his right leg which allows Action Axel to access his Power Sword for the first time.
Since then, Galileo and Axel both become friends and they like to hang out with each other. In the web series, they even both produced a series of interviews of themselves, their friends, and Madcap to get to know them better.
Bearbarian[]
Galileo and Bearbarian are friends and they would often hang out together whenever there aren't any missions, such as playing Go Fish or riding on Bearbarian's Monster Jeep at the park.
But despite their friendship, Galileo doesn't like Bearbarian's World Breaker and even refers to it as a "horrible squeaky thing". In "Swing Set Jet Set" and as revealed in a flashback in "The Thing in the Wall", Galileo had selfishly stolen World Breaker while Bearbarian is asleep so he could trade it to Princess SugarSalt to get a jetpack from her. His poor judgment and not realizing how much World Breaker means to Bearbarian lead to the latter becoming angry with him, especially when the rest of the teammates found out about the trade and Princess SugarSalt causing havoc at a park with it. Eventually, Galileo realizes how selfish he was when Princess SugarSalt put all his friends in danger and he traded back World Breaker for the jetpack to her to make up for Bearbarian. In "The Thing in the Wall", Galileo mentioned that he "learned [his] lesson with Bearbarian's hammer" and he has never again stolen any of his teammates' personal belongings behind their back for his selfish needs.
Bobbie Blobby[]
Galileo and Bobbie mostly get along as friends which he often calls her by her full name. Though, Galileo would unintentionally annoy Bobbie whenever he's being dramatic or when he attempts to crack a joke.
In "Attack of Thermometron 9000", their friendship got put to a test when Galileo and Bobbie had an argument over what the room temperature is going to be for the house. For Bobbie, she wants the house to be cold so her clays won't get melt; while for Galileo, he wants the house to be hot so he won't get freeze. When Slobot created Thermometron 9000 to settle the dispute, he made the kitchen very hot while the living room freeze which satisfies the two, but they unintentionally caused Thermometron 9000 to malfunction since they're still mad at each other and it starts causing chaos in the house. Bobbie and Galileo both eventually made up and work together to shut the malfunctioned Thermometron 9000 down.
Masko[]
Galileo isn't close to Masko, but they seem to at least get along as friends. They would often wrestle each other at Masko's wrestling ring whenever there aren't any missions.
Sarge Charge[]
Galileo isn't close to Sarge, but they mostly get along as friends. In "Porcupunk Rock", when Sarge becomes worried about Galileo when the latter wants to record a presentation video for his online blog since the Power Players must keep their identity as living toys a secret to the world, Galileo reassures to him that the viewers would think Galileo talking to the camera is a camera trick and they won't believe that he is a living toy for real.
Despite being friends, though, Galileo had stolen Sarge's parachute one time to take some selfies while parachuting down from the roof of the house, as mentioned in "The Thing in the Wall".
Slobot[]
Galileo isn't close to Slobot, but they're friends despite Slobot's lack of pace. In "That Slobot is No Bot of Mine", he even cheers for Slobot when the latter is about to win first place in the race the Power Players held to test their skills in after Masko unintentionally launches him into the air and he happened to land right near the finish line, though Slobot ends up losing when Bearbarian, Action Axel, and Masko all reach first.
Uncle Andrew[]
While it's unknown what Galileo's relationship with Andrew is, he seems to like his creator since he's the one who uses Minergy to make him come to life. He even trusts Andrew because when Action Axel reveals to the Power Players that he's Andrew's nephew in "Unboxing Part 2", Galileo and the rest of his teammates all listened to him when he's trying to clear up a misunderstanding between them.
Zoe[]
Galileo sees Zoe as a friend and he supports her as the team's ally. In "Side Kicked", he even calls Zoe a "partner" when they work together to stop Pyrant's Pyramid of Prediction army.
Luka[]
Like the rest of the Power Players, Galileo is afraid of Luka because of how roughly he likes to play with them and he would usually try to hide from him whenever Luka visits Axel's house. However, despite his fear of Luka, in "Beware of the Luka", he is willing to get played with by him after he overheard Luka talking to Axel about how "mega awesome" he is and he is Luka's favorite out of Axel's toys.
Madcap and his army[]
Galileo and the rest of his teammates must have known Madcap for a very long time before the events of the series. Because Madcap escapes from the house with the Minergy battery he stole, Galileo and the rest of the team are working together to defeat him and his army of evil toys once and for all before they take over the world.
However, despite Madcap is his sworn enemy, Galileo is willing to interview him in "Madcap" so he could get to know him better and why he wants to take over the world with his army.
Joyride[]
Galileo first met Joyride after the latter was brought to life by Madcap in "Joyride". At the time, Joyride attacked the Power Players because of his anger towards Action Axel who he blames for throwing him into the wall despite Action Axel tries to tell him that it's only an accident. But after Joyride's redemption and he leaves to explore the city on his own, Galileo and the rest of the Power Players are on friendly terms with him. In "Thirst For Power", they even work alongside Joyride to stop Dr. Nautilus from flooding the sewers when they used him as a ship despite Galileo got himself seasick while riding on him.

Trivia[]
- In the French version, his name is spelled as "Galiléo".
- As seen in "Unboxing Part 1", Galileo is the third Power Players member to be reawakened by Axel.
- Galileo is named after Galileo Galilei, an Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer.[3] Galilei is known for his studies on stars and astronomy, a visual pun for Galileo pretending to be a metaphorical celebrity star.
- Starting with "Porcupunk Rock", Galileo has his own online blog. And as revealed in "Just Like Robots", he also receives mails from his fans who read his blog.
- Out of all the characters in the series, Galileo breaks the fourth wall the most by looking at the camera and/or lampshading known movie tropes, such as mentioning flashbacks. For example, at one point in "Porcupunk Rock", he complained, "Oh! He gets a close-up?" when the camera zooms into Madcap's face. He's pretending to be a movie star might be a reason why he is aware of these tropes and his constant fourth wall breaking.
- In "Thirst For Power", it's revealed Galileo can get seasick while sailing on a boat.
- Despite Galileo is a toy who's made out of plastic, he mentioned that he's "cold-blooded" and he can't stand being in cold temperature.
- In some episodes, Galileo would mention that he has an agent.
- While they're not technically related, Galileo refers to his fellow Junior Genetic Spy Lizards toys as his "bros" in "Sand Trap".
- When Galileo got kidnapped by a bird in "Prepare For the Worst", his left leg accidentally got pulled off when Action Axel tried to rescue him.
- Despite Galileo's character isn't on the Junior Genetic Spy Lizards TV show, he enjoys watching it and wishes he could be in the show.
- In "Swing Set Jet Set", Galileo mentioned that every lizard in the toyline, except him, has a jetpack. This makes sense since Galileo was produced as a prototype and he has never come with a jetpack for his accessory.
- Despite he traded back his jetpack back to Princess SugarSalt and lost it, he has finally gotten his own in "Spies Like Us", which was probably given to him by his teammates.
- As revealed in "Swing Set Jet Set", Galileo has his own cellphone.
